PARTICIPATION

Participation is open to all chess players, regardless of the federation they are registered with in FIDE, provided that they hold a KYSO Card (Category A or B) for the year 2026 and have a valid Health Certificate issued by the Cyprus Sports Organisation (KOA).
Participants must issue the 2026 KYSO Card and register online for the championship.

Both the 2026 KYSO Card issuance and the championship registration will be done exclusively through the official Federation website at cypruschessfederation.org, no later than Wednesday, 31 December 2025.

KYSO Card Renewal 2026

This renewal process applies to all chess players, regardless of nationality, who held a valid KYSO card during the previous year (2025).

KYSO Card Registration 2026
This registration process applies to chess players of any nationality who did not hold a KYSO card last year and wish to issue one for the first time this year.

PRIZES

Trophies will be awarded to the top three players in each category (Open and Girls).
All participants will receive diplomas and medals.
An additional trophy will be awarded to the top Cypriot player (Category A athletes) in each category, who will also receive the title of Cyprus Youth Champion 2026, provided there are at least three Category A athletes in that category.
The Category A athlete who finishes first in their age category (regardless of number of participants) qualifies for free accommodation and meals offered by ECU and FIDE for the 2026 European and World Youth Championships of their age group.
